If you buy your mobile air conditioner, you will undoubtedly want to have it for a long time. No wonder, after all, you paid quite a bit of money for your air conditioning. But to ensure longevity, a little maintenance is always necessary; after all, a mobile air conditioner is also an object of use somewhere. But we can also tell you that the established brands’ high-quality products are usually all very durable, and the need for care is relatively manageable. We break it down for you to the essential points.

    1. Read The Instruction Manual

This tip initially has nothing to do with product maintenance for your mobile air conditioner, but it is still essential. When you buy a portable air conditioner, all reputable manufacturers should come with a decent user manual that provides more detailed instructions on caring for them. It can also be found on the manufacturer’s product page. This is important because most mobile air conditioning systems differ when replacing the air filter or performing other significant interventions. There you will usually also find general tips, especially for your mobile air conditioner.

    1. Cleaning The Air Filter

The air filter is an essential part of an air conditioning system, as several liters of air pass through it every hour. And after all, it would not be called an air filter if it did not clean the dust and pollen the air. You can already imagine that after using this air filter for a while, it becomes clogged. So, it has to be cleaned regularly. Fortunately, this cleaning is relatively easy and does not take too much time, but you can’t find an expert contractor.

Proceed as follows: First of all, your mobile air conditioner must be disconnected from the power supply during such interventions. Once you have done this, you can begin the actual cleaning. To do this, carefully remove the air conditioning fins because the air filter is usually located behind them. It is advisable to clean the slats immediately after removing them. Next, remove the air filter to free it from the build-up of dust. You can do this very quickly with a vacuum cleaner. A more specific but more complicated option is cleaning with warm water. Above all, you have to make sure that the filter is completely dry again when you put it back in the air conditioner. That’s all, and then your mobile air conditioner should work correctly again.

    1. Disinfection

Another part of the air conditioner that needs regular maintenance is the evaporator. Because some condensation always remains there, pathogenic bacteria can very quickly settle. Therefore, the condensation water container should also be emptied regularly, especially if you don’t want to use your mobile air conditioner for a while. To effectively prevent bacteria from forming, the evaporator on the air conditioning system should also be disinfected regularly; if you find it hard to do, get a climate control experts air conditioning.
